SALEM, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oregon’s one-stop business portal, Business Xpress, (http://www.business.oregon.gov) won a 2013 Digital Government Achievement Award in the Government to Business Category from the Center for Digital Government. This is the second time that this service has been recognized for its innovative delivery of information and services to Oregon businesses. In April 2013, the service was recognized as a 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate for its excellent application of technology to meet business needs.
Business Xpress brings together state online services, forms and information making them quickly and easily accessible from a single website without individual agency organizational structures to complicate the navigation.
“Oregon is the first state to implement a website for businesses that focuses entirely on the tasks a business needs to complete saving visitors’ time when they come to the website,” said Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown.
The project was led by the Secretary of State’s office, in collaboration with eight Oregon agencies to mine all available business-related web content and services and develop a task-oriented, user-friendly, mobile-first website. This collaborative effort leveraged the benefits of user testing by soliciting feedback from business associations and dozens of Oregonian business owners throughout the design process to reduce red tape and the time it takes to get answers. To meet users wherever they may be, Business Xpress is designed responsively to enable the site to work on all devices such as computers, smart phones and tablets. Participating agencies include:
Bureau of Labor and Industries
Business Oregon
Department of
Agriculture
Department of Administrative Services
Department
of Consumer and Business Services
Department of Revenue
Department
of Transportation
Employment Department

About the Oregon E-Government Program
Enterprise Technology Services’ E-Government Program was established through Governor’s Office Executive Order in 2001 and is administered by the Department of Administrative Services. The Oregon Legislature further supports the Program by enacting legislation in 2011 that established an Electronic Portal Advisory Board to advance the effectiveness and delivery of new online services to the public. The Program works with Oregon government organizations to enable them to conduct state business online and improve public access to government information. http://www.oregon.gov/das/ets/egov
