SHI International Announces Its Involvement in the Microsoft Devices Program

SOMERSET, N.J.--()--SHI International Corp., one of North America’s top 20 largest IT solutions providers, today announced its participation in the Microsoft Devices Program, empowering the organization to resell Surface Pro and Surface RT to commercial customers. The goal of the Microsoft Devices Program is to serve customers by activating Microsoft’s channel of partners to resell its devices to businesses of all sizes, from the classroom to the boardroom.

SHI International Corp. is a $4 billion+ global provider of information technology products and custom IT services, including software and hardware procurement, deployment planning, configuration, data center optimization, IT asset management, and enterprise cloud services. SHI Mobility Services delivers strategic planning and complete support for organizations’ mobility initiatives, from mobile device selection and procurement to carrier activations and implementations, BYOD support, mobile device management (MDM), help desk services, and more.

“Participation in the Microsoft Devices Program allows SHI to offer customers more robust mobility options than ever before,” said Kevin English, Senior Manager, Mobility at SHI International. “At the most basic level, we’re able to expand our mobility portfolio beyond iOS and Android devices to include Surface Pro and Surface RT, but more importantly, we’re now able to serve as a single source for all of a customer’s Microsoft software and hardware needs. With complete visibility into a customer’s device and software license purchases, SHI can manage the entire process from start to finish, providing high levels of integration between the software licenses that support the device—Office, SharePoint, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), etc.—and the device itself. In this way, we can help customers better manage their IT spend and ensure compliance across their IT environment.”

“Bringing Surface Pro and Surface RT to the U.S. commercial channel greatly extends the reach of our devices-and-services strategy, delivering our family of devices enabled by cloud services to more organizations than ever before,” said Jenni Flinders, Vice President U.S. Partner Group for Microsoft Corp. “We look forward to working closely with our Microsoft Devices Program partners to better serve their customers and create compelling solutions together.”

The Microsoft Partner Network is designed to equip organizations that deliver products and services through the Microsoft platform with the training, resources and support they need to provide their customers superior experience and outcomes. Launching first in the U.S., Microsoft Devices Program creates a two-tier distribution model with authorized partners to enable commercial customers to purchase Surface Pro and Surface RT.
