Continued Growth for HCL in Latin America

SAO PAULO--()--Having recently marked the four-year anniversary of its operations in Brazil, the $4.5 billion global IT services provider, HCL Technologies, continues to occupy a position of strength and is poised for continued growth and expansion in Latin America (LATAM).

HCL has earned and maintained an excellent reputation for having strong local service delivery teams in its global delivery centers in Sao Paulo and Sao Leopoldo. In these two centers, HCL can accommodate up to 450 IT professionals focused primarily on its strengths in enterprise application services and infrastructure management services.

HCL continues to see strong demand for these services as well as for middleware, service oriented architecture (SOA), ADM, business intelligence, Oracle and SAP. As with other regions, HCL has continued to develop a balanced portfolio of local and global (Fortune 500) customers in LATAM, as well as strong connection with governments and technical expertise to locally support HCL’s growing ecosystem in LATAM.

HCL’s operations in Brazil have grown 35 percent year-on-year for the last two years, adding significantly to the customer base over this period. During the past two years, the company has also increased its headcount by about 50 percent in Brazil. HCL sees increasing demand from its global customers headquartered in North America, as well as in Europe and Asia to support their LATAM delivery operations from its Brazil centers.

“For HCL, Latin America is a strategic place to conduct, transact and grow business; it is not merely a services delivery location,” said Shami Khorana, President, HCL Americas. “We are encouraged by the favorable economic conditions in the region and the continued demand for our near shore services delivered across LATAM. As a result, there remains tremendous opportunity for HCL to continue delivering total IT outsourcing solutions to the growing portfolio of local and global corporations headquartered here and doing business throughout the region.”

As the global footprint of its customers continues to grow in LATAM, HCL’s headquarters in Brazil offers significant potential for global IT companies to service the needs of its global clients. From its hub in Brazil, HCL continues to serve clients there, as well as in Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Chile.

Shami Khorana, President of HCL Americas, is available for his commentary on both the overall IT landscape in LATAM for the short and medium-term, but also to discuss HCL’s growth and expansion strategy.
