MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WFOR-TV (CBS 4) in Miami announced today that it is now broadcasting a mobile signal. With this station lighting, South Florida viewers will now have access to CBS 4’s live local and network programming thanks to Dyle™ mobile TV, the consumer service and innovative technology that brings live broadcast television – including national news, sports and entertainment programming – to mobile devices at home or on-the-go. Accessories are available that turn mobile devices into portable TV’s without tapping into a consumer’s wireless data plan, making it easy for CBS 4’s viewers to enjoy live TV whether they are out at a sporting event or coffee shop, or checking local news while bracing for a storm during a power outage.
“We at CBS 4 are excited to partner with Dyle and make our programming available to people in our market who wish to view our station on a mobile device,” said Adam Levy, Vice President and General Manager, WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV.
Dyle is driving the commercial rollout of a national mobile video service that is using special airwaves to enable broadcasters to transmit a live simulcast of their channel directly to viewers' mobile devices. Viewers can choose from several devices and accessories available in the market to watch live TV anywhere, anytime, without tapping into their data plans. iPhones and iPads can be turned into portable TV’s with Belkin’s receiver accessory for Dyle mobile TV, or with Elgato’s EyeTV Mobile TV Tuner accessory. And, MetroPCS offers the Samsung Galaxy S® Lightray™ 4G Android smartphone, which comes preloaded with the Dyle™ mobile TV app.
“We are very excited to have CBS 4 light their station for Dyle to make content available to viewers in South Florida who want to enjoy live broadcast TV from their mobile devices everywhere they go,” said Salil Dalvi and Erik Moreno, co-General Managers of MCV. “The addition of CBS 4 continues our momentum to provide live TV programming to users across the country and we look forward to further expanding our footprint in the coming months.”
