Cummins Allison Multi-Pocket Sorter Revolutionizes High-Speed Currency Sorting for Gaming Properties

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--()--Handling large quantities of cash and tickets is a fact of life for casino operations, but how a casino chooses to deal with this daily task can make a difference in efficiency and effectiveness. The JetScan iFX® i400 multi-pocket sorter from Cummins Allison, the leading innovator and provider of coin, cheque and currency handling solutions, helps gaming operations increase currency processing efficiencies due to its high-speed, compact size and flexible configurations.

The JetScan iFX i400 utilizes breakthrough imaging technology that provides outstanding read rates while processing currency at up to 1,000 notes per minute, resulting in higher throughput at a 39 percent faster speed than the closest competitive unit.

"The JetScan iFX i400 opens up the possibilities for gaming properties where space is a premium," said Harry Patrinos, Canadian managing director at Cummins Allison. "Gaming properties can quickly process currency in a single pass, whether in cages, count rooms or employee banks. Even those who might process moderate amounts of cash such as retailers, vending companies and transit firms can gain high-speed productivity in a small space at an affordable price."

The JetScan iFX i400 is the most flexible and user-configurable multi-pocket sorter on the market. From a base unit of three pockets, additional 2-pocket modules can be added to create 5-pocket, 7-pocket or 9-pocket systems, now or expandable in the future. The unique design can create up to 9 pockets in a space-saving vertical configuration, effectively providing a high-volume, multi-pocket sorter in a footprint barely larger than a desktop sorter.

Flexibility is a hallmark of the JetScan iFX i400, from pocket configuration to user-customizable operating software to accommodate workflows or different processing operations. Operating modes or pocket configurations can be changed with the touch of a button using an intuitive, touch-screen display.

The JetScan iFX i400 can also easily process polymer-based Canadian notes and utilizes static dissipating components to address the most common concern with notes incorporating polymer – static. Cummins Allison worked closely with the Bank of Canada during the design of the new currency to ensure that its equipment would process the new notes quickly, accurately and problem-free.

The entire family of JetScan iFX products will be on display at Cummins Allison’s booth, #1008, during the Canadian Gaming Business Summit from June 17 to 19. Attendees are encouraged to see, first-hand, how the JetScan iFX solutions can deliver efficiency throughout a gaming property through unique features such as, advanced counterfeit detection, the ability to capture serial numbers from every note for tracking and mixed note processing speeds.
