Mobisante Announces Series A Financing to Expand Sales and Marketing

REDMOND, Wash.--()--Mobisante, Inc., a Redmond, Washington based medical device company that makes smart phone and tablet based ultrasound imaging systems, announced the first closing of its Series A Financing. WRF Capital led the round. The syndicate included the W Fund and a group of Angel investors including several members of the Alliance of Angels. Loretta Little, Managing Director at WRF Capital, will join the Mobisante board. Mobisante expects to do another closing soon.

“This financing will allow Mobisante to expand its sales and marketing efforts to make point-of-care ultrasound a reality in the target segments,” said Sailesh Chutani, CEO, Mobisante.

Recently, Mobisante added 2 new members to their executive team: Marcus Y. Smith, as the Chief Financial Officer, and Dr. Bradley N. Younggren as the Chief Medical Officer. Prior to Mobisante Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer of SonoSite, Inc., a leader in point-of-care ultrasound, until its acquisition by FujiFilm Inc. Dr. Younggren spent 11 years at Madigan Army Medical Center where he helped pioneer point-of-care ultrasound for the Army in both the Emergency Department as well as in the pre-hospital and combat environments. Dr. Younggren is also the Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington.
