Vidicom's InteracTV Wins

NEW YORK--()--For the second consecutive year, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has recognized Vidicom with a Bronze Anvil Award for InteracTV. The winning tactic builds an interactive brand community through live streaming video content. "It’s WebTV that talks back and opens the conversation to a brand's fan base, and creates online communities who can talk directly to brand ambassadors," says Christy Ferer, Founder and CEO of Vidicom.

This year, it’s Vidicom's live interactive webcast featuring Bravo’s "Top Chef" host Gail Simmons winning the 2013 Anvil. Gail and SeriousEats.com's Ed Levine interacted with consumers via Skype and answered questions from Facebook and Twitter while they demonstrated kitchen magic with Pepperidge Farm’s Puff Pastry. Pepperidge Farm doubled its Facebook reach to 1.1 million people and increased viewer impressions 30% from 1.6 to 2.3 million. In addition, 14,000 brand fans engaged with the Facebook page compared to 11,000 from the week prior, increasing the company's Edge Rank in fans' newsfeeds. "When presented with the opportunity to provide consumers with direct access to the Puff Pastry brand with spokesperson Gail Simmons via a live webcast with InteracTV, we jumped at the chance,” said Theresa Miller, Brand Manager, Frozen Desserts at Pepperidge Farm. “Our fans are always looking for simple yet impressive recipes and easy entertaining tips. Enabling them to pose questions to and interact with a culinary expert like Gail Simmons through InteracTV undoubtedly sparked excitement and greater engagement among our followers.”

The sky's the limit when Vidicom brand journalists create and stream live programming. Olympic champion Gabby Douglas chatted with fans to offer nutrition and exercise advice, while ClosetMaid spokesperson and TV contractor John DeSilvia personally offered closet solutions to consumers via Skype. The tactic also reached consumers seeking advice from Calvin Klein brand experts on buying the right size bra and learning how to measure oneself in order to secure the proper fit. (Vidicom won the 2012 PRSA Bronze Anvil Award for this tactic.)

Most recently, AARP joined forces with Vidicom in producing monthly interactive broadcasts to continue AARP's "Life Reimagined " conversation. After host Jane Pauley's segment broadcasts on NBC's TODAY, she and the AARP team move from 30 Rock studios to Vidicom’s in-house Sky Terrace Studios to continue the broadcast, enabling Jane to continue the conversation directly with the brand's consumers and fans on the AARP Facebook page. http://bcove.me/g5hksh22
