Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician Wu Hequan Joins WMGC 2013 as Honorary Advisor

BEIJING--()--Wu Hequan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), an expert in Optical Transport Network and Broadband Information Network, has recently been confirmed to join Advisory Board of ChinaJoy World Mobile Game Conference (WMGC) as an honorary advisor. The conference will be held at Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai on July 25-26, 2013 and its exhibition at Hall W4 of Shanghai New International Expo Centre on July 26-27.

After graduating from Wuhan Institute of Posts and Telecommunications in 1964, Mr. Wu was engaged in the research and development (R&D) and project management of optical transport system and broadband networks at Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, 505 Factory of General Administration of Telecommunications, No.9 Research Institute of the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and CATR of the former MII. He was the leader of the communications industry group of the National Hi-tech R&D Program (863 Program) in charge of research of communications technologies, and later served as Vice Director of the Regulatory Commission of 863 Program, Vice Director and Chief Engineer of CATR, and Vice President of CAE. In the past decade, he has been in charge of the R&D and management of NGI, 3G and LTE projects in. Mr. Wu Hequan is currently working as the Vice Director of the Advisory Committee for State Informatization, Director of Communication Science and Technology Commission of MIIT, Vice President of Chinese Institute of Electronics, Vice President of China Institute of Communications, President of China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), Consultant for The National Basic Research Program (973 Program), General Engineer of the state’s next-generation broadband wireless mobile communication network project, Director of Expert Commission for China's Next-generation Internet Demonstrative Project, leader of the expert group for tri-network integration, leader of strategic group for "Broadband China", Chair of National IoT Consultant Commission, Chair of Wuxi National Sensor Network Innovative Demonstration Plot, and senior member of IEEE.
