DisplayLink Enables Wireless Docking in the New Dell D5000 Wireless WiGig 802.11ad Dual Display Dock

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--DisplayLink®, the leading provider of USB Graphics technology, today announced the award winning DL-3900 dual head docking chip powers Dell’s new D5000 wireless WiGig 802.11ad Wireless Dock. The Dell D5000 is a no-compromise, full docking station allowing users to connect to dual displays, Ethernet LAN, audio, and full USB connectivity over a wireless WiGig 802.11ad link.

The Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabook and D5000 Wireless Dock are a world’s first. By combining DisplayLink’s DL-3900 docking chip with tri-band wireless technology from Wilocity and Qualcomm Atheros, the D5000 delivers a no-compromise user experience. DisplayLink codecs and protocols deliver pixel perfect text and graphics with very low latency, and smooth immersive video. WiGig 802.11ad delivers high bandwidth in crowded office environments. The combined technologies deliver on the promise of wireless expansion of video, graphics, Ethernet LAN, audio on par with a wired connection.
