Twitch Brings on Live Video Platform Veteran Colin Carrier

Formerly the vice president of monetization at Ustream, Mr. Carrier joins Twitch as chief strategy officer

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, today announced that live video platform business veteran Colin Carrier has joined its executive team as chief strategy officer.

Most recently, Colin spent almost four years at Ustream where he was responsible for driving growth and monetization operations. He led all monetization channels including advertising sales and operations, e-commerce solutions, paid media and distribution, as well as emerging revenue-driving products and services.

“We’ve arrived at a very exciting time in Twitch’s growth and we need smart, experienced people to help us take advantage of that growth,” said Emmett Shear, Twitch CEO. “Colin is an industry veteran with extensive experience building live streaming business models from the ground up. In recent months, Twitch has announced a steady drumbeat of growth milestones and video game industry partnerships including content partnerships with Blizzard Entertainment and Major League Gaming; and product integrations with Call of Duty: Black Ops II and EA Origin, among others. Twitch reached more than 30 million unique viewers in March and is growing at an average of 15% month-over –month.
