CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Market research firm Infonetics Research released excerpts from its now-quarterly Enterprise Session Border Controllers market share and forecast report, which tracks enterprise session border controller (eSBC) manufacturer revenue and the number of sessions sold by system size and business size.
ANALYST NOTE
“Demand for enterprise SBCs is very strong in North America, where shipments of SBC sessions grew even faster than we forecast for 2012 and where revenue makes up about three-quarters of the global market,” reports Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC, and IMS at Infonetics Research. “North America’s eSBC dominance is attributable mostly to the growing adoption of SIP trunking, largely by companies who stand to benefit from trunking centralization.”
Myers adds, “Following a 60% revenue spike in the global eSBC market in 2011, growth slowed in 2012 as price competition kicked in. In addition to price erosion, SBC sessions are shipping at a much slower rate than anticipated in Asia, EMEA and Latin America due to slower adoption of SIP trunking and poor economic conditions in some countries.”
