ADOPTED DOGS FROM VICK DOG FIGHTING OPERATION REUNITE AND CELEBRATE FIVE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH FELLOW “VICKTORY” DOGS AT BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY
Best Friends Animal Society is a leader in animal long-term care and rehabilitation
On Monday, March 11, six of the 22 dogs who came to Best Friends Animal Society after being rescued from Michael Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels in 2008 returned to Best Friends’ Sanctuary to mark five years of freedom. The dogs were joined by the families who adopted them following their rehabilitation to celebrate and reunite with their old friends.
Over the past five years, the “Vicktory” dogs were rehabilitated by Best Friends’ expert staff through extensive care, training and TLC to help overcome their past experiences. This process included individualized care to address specific medical needs, food preference, re-learning comfort and companionship, interacting with other dogs, and learning basic manners.
The event was held at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the nation’s largest companion animal sanctuary, located in Kanab, Utah.
