LearnLaunchX Accelerator Opens Applications for First Ed Tech Program

March 25, 2013 Application Deadline for New England’s First Comprehensive Ed Tech Accelerator Providing Entrepreneurs With Strategic Sector Advantages, Mentoring and Seed Capital.

BOSTON--()--LearnLaunchX today opened applications to its first ed tech accelerator cohort, which will host up to eight early stage companies for an intensive three-month immersive program in Boston starting on June 10, 2013. The application deadline is March 25, 2013 www.learnlaunchx.com/Application.

Companies will be chosen for their solutions’ potential to make education more accessible and effective for preK-20 student populations, lifelong learners, corporate training programs and the education professionals and administrators who reach, instruct and inspire them. LearnLaunchX will evaluate companies based on their originality, management team experience, potential for growth, and impact on the learning community. Successful applicants will share the LearnLaunchX team’s drive to create transformative solutions that address both the challenges in education and the emerging market opportunities.

College affordability, college completion, and K-12 college and career readiness concerns are increasingly driving universities, schools and individual educators to seek transformative solutions that can increase student learning and engagement. “With the new urgency added by performance and regulatory mandates, early-stage entrepreneurs can’t afford to waste time. They need a team that truly understands where the needs of parents, teachers, principals, administrators, channels and students themselves intersect and diverge. LearnLaunchX offers this insight, and would be an invaluable resource if TenMarks were launching today,” notes Andrew Joseph, Co-Founder and President of TenMarks, developers of award-winning online math curriculum.

Entrepreneurs selected to the cohort will receive seed funding, mentoring, free working space, strategic guidance and a set of core technology services to successfully build their companies. “The LearnLaunchX team has helped some of today’s most accomplished education and technology entrepreneurs understand and navigate sector complexities, and develop, launch and integrate solutions that now improve the lives of tens of millions of consumers and organizational users daily,” noted Eileen Rudden, Co-Founder of LearnLaunch and LearnLaunchX. Rudden was Chief Officer, College and Career Preparation at Chicago Public Schools, the United States’ third-largest public school system and was a 2009 Broad Fellow.

This first cohort will help entrepreneurs emerge with the strategies, creativity and tenacity to successfully develop, launch and win adoption for new and transformative education and digital learning solutions.
