FLEXcon Announces ISO Class 7 Cleanroom Certification

Certification Helps Customers Meet Tight Cleanliness Specifications

SPENCER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, today announced its new cleanroom has achieved its ISO Class 7 Cleanroom certification from Certification and Calibration Services, Inc. With this new certification, FLEXcon is implementing a new standard of manufacturing for pressure-sensitive applications, specifically for the consumer electronics industries, which require production in a clean room. Customers can be confident that they are receiving quality materials that meet the required ISO Class 7 cleanroom specifications.

Different markets and end-use applications require products that are clean—free of dust, dirt, debris and particles. This is particularly important in electronic applications where companies’ finished products must meet tight cleanliness specifications. FLEXcon pursued the cleanroom certification to further strengthen its commitment to providing customers with materials that have a low level of airborne contaminants. Only select FLEXcon products will be manufactured in the cleanroom, this excludes 60” products. FLEXcon achieved certification by implementing its 24” cleanroom line, capable of running products that meet the ISO Class 7 cleanroom standard for dirt and debris for the intended electronics application. Quality materials are brought to FLEXcon and certified as suitable for this environment.

The clean room is capable of both solvent and water based coatings that can be cured via thermoset or UV curing methods. The machinery has sophisticated handling capabilities to produce product that is suitable for clean applications. Constant monitoring of the hepa-filtered environment ensures a stable production environment.
