Intel-GE Care Innovations™ Announces New Technology Enhancements, Launches Remote Care Briefing Center

Remote Care Management Empowers Medicare Advantage Health Plans To Help Members with Chronic Condition Management

ROSEVILLE, Calif.--()--Intel-GE Care Innovations announced today the launch of a comprehensive briefing center to help health plans understand remote care management and its role in helping members increase their self-management of chronic conditions, driving appropriate utilization of healthcare resources. As part of its commitment to health plans and providers, Care Innovations™ has also upgraded the functionality of the Intel-GE Care Innovations™ Guide, its remote care management platform.

Care Innovations recently received Frost & Sullivan’s 2012 North American Remote Patient Monitoring Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for its suite of technology solutions, including the Care Innovations™ Guide. The Guide has already penetrated 42 U.S. states with its remote care management capabilities. Now, based on direct customer input, the solution has been upgraded to enable:

  • Faster processing and better response time in clinician-patient interactions;
  • Enhanced video conferencing for smoother communications between clinicians and patients;
  • Quicker set-up process for home installations;
  • Faster decommissioning of patients when they are no longer in the remote care plan.

“The Care Innovations™ Guide is one of the best platforms for helping health plans and providers seamlessly extend the care setting into the home,” said Daniel Ruppar, analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “And perhaps more importantly, Care Innovations has shown true vision and partnership in helping customers through the process of changing their care models.”

Health plans are facing an immediate need to change business processes for the massive influx of older, more chronically ill patients. One key solution is remote care management, which is poised to facilitate a shift in care from expensive acute settings to the home.

Care Innovations’ newly-launched Remote Care Briefing Center (www.remotecarebriefingcenter.com) was designed to meet the needs of health plans looking for information on how to accelerate this shift. Developed in partnership with Healthcare Payer News, this online resource will help educate payers through the design and implementation processes of remote care management. In this center, health plans can learn:

  • How to reduce operating costs while delivering better care to the most expensive members;
  • Why patient engagement may be the key to improving star ratings – and how to achieve it;
  • How to assess the business value of remote monitoring in Medicare Advantage populations.

“Health plans are at the forefront of rethinking the cost/care/access dilemma,” said James Pursley, vice president of sales and marketing at Care Innovations. “Our job as a technology partner is to help them through that process with continuous innovation and end-to-end professional services. With our latest upgrades and the launch of the Remote Care Briefing Center, we’re committed to delivering meaningful resources to help payers better understand the business value that remote care management brings to their organizations and members.”
