LivingSocial Names Former Best Buy CMO Barry Judge as Chief Marketing Officer

WASHINGTON--()--LivingSocial, the local marketplace to buy and share the best things to do in your city, today announced that experienced marketing executive Barry Judge has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the company. Formerly, Judge served as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer for Best Buy, the world’s largest consumer electronics retailer, as well as a range of other senior marketing positions at Best Buy and other companies.

As CMO at LivingSocial, Judge will oversee all aspects of marketing for the company, including online and offline advertising, brand management, social media, and communications.

Judge originally joined Best Buy in 1999 to help the company launch bestbuy.com, now one of the world’s leading online commerce destinations, and held a number of senior marketing positions at the company before being named CMO in 2008, a position he held until mid-2012.

Judge began his career at The Direct Marketing Group and has held positions ranging from marketing assistant to product group manager with Young & Rubicam, Coca Cola USA, The Quaker Oats Company and the Pillsbury Company. He also served as vice president of marketing for Caribou Coffee Company.

Judge serves on the boards of Total Wine & More, Owner IQ, and the Mobile Marketing Association. Judge has a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree in marketing from the J.L. Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He can be found on Twitter @barryjudge.
