Westwood College Takes on Larger Role in Strategic Direction of Private Sector Colleges

Committee appointments by Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities reinforce partnership between college and trade organization

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Several members of Westwood College’s leadership team have accepted appointments to key committees established by the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU), the sector’s trade association that is composed of accredited, private, postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities that provide career-specific educational programs. These committee positions range from communications to regulatory to academic affairs.

Committee appointments for Westwood’s team include:

• John Keim, Chief Academic Officer, Westwood College was appointed to the Academic Excellence Committee. The purpose of the Academic Excellence Committee is to participate fully in a national academic dialogue by contributing what private sector colleges and universities are doing in the areas of pedagogical delivery, academic services, student assessment and student academic success that is relevant and of benefit to all of higher education.
• Bill Ojile, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, Westwood College was appointed to the Federal Regulatory Committee. The Federal Regulatory Committee supports APSCU in the oversight and engagement of the Association and the sector on federal regulatory issues affecting private sector institutions and the students they serve.
• Phil Smith, Director of Public Relations and Social Media, Westwood College was appointed to the Communications Committee. The Communications Committee is tasked with advancing the image and awareness of the career education sector, specifically in providing students with education and skills that achieve improved jobs, incomes and an improved quality of life.
• Kimberly Thompson, Assistant Academic Dean, Westwood College Anaheim was appointed to the Federal Legislative Committee. The Federal Legislative Committee supports the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) in advancing the public policy of private sector colleges and universities.
