Artisan™ Announces Public Beta for its Mobile Experience Management Platform

Artisan™ Platform Unlocks Mobile App Potential with Dynamic Development, Testing, and Analytics Features

PHILADELPHIA--()--Artisan, creator of the industry’s first Mobile Experience Management (MEM) platform, today announced that its platform is now launching in public beta. Artisan’s MEM platform enables non-technical marketers, publishers, and e-commerce professionals to manage, understand, and enhance native mobile applications without writing code, recompiling, or resubmitting to mobile app stores. By unlocking organizations from time-consuming processes and offering insights into user behavior, Artisan lets customers quickly transform static mobile apps into dynamic marketing and e-commerce channels.

Artisan Optimize is the first of several products on the Artisan MEM platform to be available in public beta. This product enables customers to test and modify the user experience of native mobile applications without writing code. Some of the features of Artisan Optimize include:

  • Test Distribution: Distribute A/B tests to different groups of users within your app's existing user base. Instantly deploy winning designs to all users.
  • Test Designer: Streamlined UI for building Artisan A/B tests on-device, including enhanced handling of images, text, and positioning
  • Experiment Analytics: Collect data on how each individual user has used your app, including every page view and event triggered in the UI during each user session
  • Click to Install SDK: Self-serve installer to automatically integrate the Artisan SDK into your app, with no additional code required

“When we learned of Artisan Optimize, we immediately knew this was a game-changer and were eager to begin employing the solution to enhance our iOS application,” stated Frank Panko, Founder and CEO of A View From My Seat, a mobile application that lets sports fans share pictures of their seat view from venues around the world. “With this solution, we now have insight into user preference, and in just two months with Artisan, we’ve seen a 22% increase in app usage with our users. We’re able to run several tests concurrently, easily add or remove graphics, and modify language on-demand. If we had to re-write code and re-submit our app to the app store each time we made a change, this process could take many weeks rather than just minutes.”

The public release of the Artisan MEM platform builds on the momentum of a successful private beta launched in September, which included a dozen Fortune 500 companies and more than 60 companies in total. Artisan has introduced new self-provisioning tools with the release of the first public beta product, and it will soon release many more performance enhancements and feature additions.

“The Artisan platform for Mobile Experience Management has come a long way in a very short time,” said CEO Bob Moul. “Early beta testers have now reached full production and are regularly updating their native apps to refine and improve the user experience. This is something that’s never been done before. Retailers, marketers and publishers are gaining unprecedented access not only to audience response, but also to the process of updating mobile apps in a real-time environment. Organizations have an opportunity to unleash the full potential of the mobile app experience, learning which app designs are most effective, and how to improve app development for the strongest performance results.”

Artisan’s sophisticated, patent-pending technology renders the user interface of a native mobile application dynamically from the cloud. With public beta now underway, general availability of the platform is expected in the first quarter of 2013. Future Artisan products will add even more capabilities, creating a single environment in which rich mobile experiences can be can be managed without having to write code, recompile or resubmit to app stores. Products planned for release in 2013 include:

  • Artisan Analyze: Understand and track every page view and app event
  • Artisan Create: Design and build the user interface of new native mobile apps
  • Artisan Personalize: Segment and target audiences with personalized app experiences
  • Artisan Performance Management: Monitor performance and adapt app delivery for the best user experience
