Mainstream Energy Corp. Names Paul Winnowski President and CEO

Seasoned international executive will focus on affordability and accessibility of solar; drive sustainable growth

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.--()--Mainstream Energy Corporation, one of the largest and most experienced solar energy companies in the country, today announced the appointment of Paul Winnowski as President and Chief Executive Officer. Winnowski will have direct responsibility for all operations at Mainstream Energy Corp. and subsidiaries REC Solar, AEE Solar and SnapNRack.

“As a former executive at GE and UTC, and coming from an industry which has experienced rapid growth, geographic expansion and significant cost reductions, Paul will bring insights and expertise critical to our next phase of growth,” said Timothy Ball, Mainstream Energy Corp. Chairman. “His experience in increasing customer access and adoption, while reducing cost through operational efficiency, lower customer acquisition cost and scalable systems is a natural parallel for solar. Paul has the strategic insights and operational know-how to accelerate our vision of bringing solar to the mainstream.”

Winnowski brings 20+ years of experience at the helm of large corporations in highly-competitive markets. He previously served as President of United Technologies Fire & Security in North Europe & South Africa, where he was responsible for well over $1Bn in sales and more than 13,000 employees. Prior to this, he managed UTC’s Fire & Security business in Asia with over $500M in sales and 4,000 employees. Winnowski also held a number of leadership roles at General Electric, where he built GE Security’s business in China and Asia, and began his career scaling a private company from $30M to $650M in revenues, ultimately leading to acquisition by GE.

“Making solar more affordable and accessible is core to Mainsteam’s vision and vital for the continued growth of the company,” said Winnowski. “As I’ve learned in the fire and security industry, companies that focus on improving customer benefits and lowering cost while building scalable business processes are the ones which will ultimately emerge as sustainable and profitable industry leaders. Mainstream’s reputation, experience, relationships and resources provide a solid foundation to build on as we strive to make solar increasingly attractive to a rapidly expanding range of customers.”
