Lancaster City Bureau of Police Purchases CODY Systems' Public-Safety Software Solution to Modernize Processes and Increase Officer Efficiency

Lancaster City Bureau of Police, PA becomes the second in the county to recently purchase public-safety RMS software solutions from PA-based CODY Systems

POTTSTOWN, Pa.--()--The Lancaster City Bureau of Police has purchased a leading public-safety records management system (RMS) software solution from CODY Systems to enhance officer safety and provide better, information-led policing. The integrated solution includes many of CODY’s modules, including CODY’s Desktop RMS, Express RMS, Investigations, Corrections, Data Visualizer, and Express PA Criminal Complaint and Booking, along with an interface to the Lancaster County Forge CAD System.

Of particular note is CODY Express, CODY’s robust RMS-anywhere solution, which will give secure RMS functionality to Lancaster City officers in the field over commercial wireless networks, including effective and swift “live” report writing with a real-time link to the RMS database and the ability to enter data and complete reports even when a connection is lost. Officers in the field will also be able to instantly search and find all prior contact information about the people, vehicles and locations they interact with in the field, with real-time officer safety alerts and warnings, to better protect them “in the moment.” The bureau visited many other agencies using CODY Systems in southeastern PA and obtained nothing but the most positive feedback about CODY’s people and products.

Lancaster City will also be connecting to the Pennsylvania South Central Task Force via CODY’s COBRA.net Information-sharing platform already in place for over 18 months. COBRA.net provides officers in south central PA with real-time, actionable information on individuals, vehicles, incidents and more from across all of their RMS databases, at both the desktop in the field, regardless of the RMS vendor each local agency uses.

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police serves and protects the people of Lancaster City, PA with a force of approximately 147 sworn officers and 46 civilians.

“The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is looking forward to implementing a modern, efficient RMS package,” said Lieutenant Todd Umstead, PIO and Administrative Lt. “We chose CODY based on the company’s reputation and their commitment to the needs of officers in the field.”
