IHI Hosts 24^th Annual National Forum as U.S. Health Care System Navigates the Post-Election Landscape

WHAT:	The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), a leading innovator in health and health care improvement worldwide, will host its 24^th Annual National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care from December 9^th to 12^th in Orlando, FL. The Forum will take place in the wake of both the United States presidential election and the Supreme Court decision upholding the Affordable Care Act, as the nation continues to grapple with health reform and the need to improve care and slow health care costs. IHI’s Forum is the meeting place each year for those leading significant initiatives to transform patient care in their home organizations, both in the U.S. and internationally. The gathering offers a chance for participants to be part of one of the “defining moments” of health care, and to learn from one another at more than 140 workshops and presentations.
	Attending the Forum from the U.S. and more than 40 other countries will be practicing physicians, nurses, quality leaders, health care administrators, executives, patient and family advocates, and a growing number of students training to be health professionals. Among the many issues to be addressed at the Forum are: IHI’s approach to reducing avoidable rehospitalizations; creating high reliability organizations; integrating palliative care in the ED; implementing accountable care organizations (ACOs); person-centered IT and how payers can drive quality in large health systems.
