KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dineplex International, LLC (Dineplex), a Kansas City based business and developer of STANDEES — The Entertaining Eatery, announces today that it will begin construction next week on the inaugural location of STANDEES — an adult-oriented, upscale-casual restaurant serving affordable, chef-infused American classics, that combines dining and entertainment in a digitally enhanced, optimally integrated facility — in The Village Shopping Center in Prairie Village, Kan.

Dineplex will add approximately 35 new jobs at the first STANDEES location in Prairie Village, including a general manager, culinary manager and operations manager, which the company is actively recruiting for now. Dineplex is also supporting the local economy by working with seven companies on both sides of the Missouri/Kansas state line to create STANDEES, including:

Hints of the magic evoked by movies will subtly echo throughout the design of the 14,000 square-foot, single-level floor plan of STANDEES. A 70-foot signature “film strip” digital display prominently placed above 30 seats at the highly accessible “U-shaped” bar will enliven conversations in the restaurant. With 40 deep-booths and banquette seating, restaurant guests will enjoy a cozy atmosphere of warm lighting, natural materials and polished surfaces that emit a “club-like” feel. Additionally, there will be 30 seats on an outdoor patio where people can enjoy food, drinks and conversation outside, bringing the restaurant’s total number of seats to approximately 240.
Utilizing the freshest, highest-quality ingredients and leading-edge culinary techniques, the chef-infused, American classic-style menu at STANDEES will feature flavor-filled dishes made in-house in a cutting-edge, “360-degree” chef-designed kitchen that will satisfy the palate of the most food-savvy guest, at a variety of prices to fit anyone’s budget.
The three intimate theatres at STANDEES will house a total of 250 theatre seats, with an average of 85 seats in each of the three theatres. All three theatres will boast stadium seating and 3D technology along with digital projection systems that will play movies programmed from a centralized, state-of-the-art control room on 30-foot wide screens. Each theatre will also be equipped with Dolby Surround 7.1, a movie audio format developed to provide more depth and realism to the theatre experience through eight discrete, full-range audio channels.
Content in the theatres will appeal to adult moviegoers including commercial movies, the best in independent film and progressive theatre experiences, such as live and pre-recorded performances and events. While there will not be servers in the theatres, the diverse and engaging menu from the STANDEES restaurant and bar menu will extend to the café-style concession stand, where guests will be able to order their favorite movie treats, drinks from the bar or select appetizers and desserts from the restaurant, and enjoy all of them from the comfort of their plush theatre seat.
