Janssen Healthcare Innovation Announces Winners of Janssen Connected Health Challenge Europe 2012

Janssen awards €32,500 for transformational care ideas to spur healthcare innovation

BERLIN--()--Today Janssen Healthcare Innovation, a team within Janssen Research & Development, LLC (Janssen), announced the winners of the Janssen Connected Health Challenge Europe 2012 in partnership with Health 2.0. This crowd-sourcing inspired challenge is part of Janssen's overall strategy to continuously spur early stage healthcare innovation both internally and externally. Entrepreneurs and start-ups were invited to pitch technology solutions to improve care in three distinct areas including: 1) Enabling personal health management through technology; 2) Delivering quality care in patient homes and residential environments; and 3) Maintaining adherence to prescribed medication. Janssen Healthcare Innovation awarded a total of €32,500 to the Challenge winners to stimulate further development of the best ideas selected from each of these areas.

First prize winners in each category will receive €7,500 and the opportunity today to make a public presentation of their technology during the Health 2.0 Europe Conference in Berlin, Germany. Second prize winners will each receive €2,500. The winners were selected after a rigorous screening and 21 selected finalists presented product demonstrations yesterday to a panel of venture capitalists and industry experts during the Health 2.0 Europe conference. The winners and contestants retain all rights to their ideas and solutions.
