National Labor Alliance of Health Care Coalitions Partners with Extend Health to Improve Access to Retiree Health Benefits

NLAHCC partnership with Extend Health provides retiree members access to the nation’s largest private Medicare exchange

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--The National Labor Alliance of Health Care Coalitions (NLAHCC) and Extend Health – operator of the nation’s largest private Medicare exchange – today announced a partnership that will improve NLAHCC member organizations’ access to health benefits for their Medicare-eligible retirees and dependents. The NLAHCC includes more than 23 Regional Coalitions which cover over 10 million working Americans and their dependents.

“One of the NLAHCC’s core values is to serve as the national voice of heath care concerns and issues for our member organizations, and providing sound, effective access to Medicare coverage for our retirees is a big part of that,” said Douglas Rubbelke, Executive Director of NLAHCC. “Partnering with Extend Health not only empowers our member organizations’ retirees to make better health care decisions, the Extend Health Medicare exchange also gives our retirees more choice of health insurance carriers and plans than any other alternative while also encouraging better value and pricing from insurers. Our retirees benefit further from the highly personalized support Extend Health benefit advisors provide in helping them select the health care coverage that meets their needs at prices they can afford. In doing so, Extend Health provides an ongoing retiree health care program that is sustainable into the future of our coalition and our member organizations.”

The Extend Health exchange offers thousands of private Medicare plans from over 80 health insurance carriers, technology-based decision support tools and licensed benefit advisors to provide personalized guidance to retirees. Over 275 private sector employers, public sector employers and trade associations use Extend Health to serve hundreds of thousands of retirees – more than any other private Medicare exchange. Extend Health is a Towers Watson company.

“Extend Health supports the NLAHCC’s mission of ensuring that its workers and their families – present and retired – have access to value- and quality-based benefits and services through innovative programs and products,” said Bryce Williams, founder of Extend Health and Managing Director of Exchange Solutions for Towers Watson. “It’s an honor to serve the hard working men and women that the NLAHCC and its member organizations represent.”
