Comcast Delivers Fastest Internet and Fastest In-home WiFi With Extreme 305 and New Xfinity Wireless Gateway

New Test Results Confirm Comcast’s Wireless Gateway Outperforms the Competition

PHILADELPHIA--()--Comcast Corporation, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services, today announced that it is not only delivering the nation’s fastest Internet, but is also providing the fastest in-home WiFi with its latest Xfinity Wireless Gateway. The second generation of this all-in-one device gives today’s digital families everything they need to connect all their devices simultaneously to the fastest in-home WiFi network. For decades, Comcast has invested in creating infrastructure across the U.S. that makes broadband widely available. Today, it is taking another step in making innovative wireless technology available in consumers’ homes.

According to a recent competitive analysis conducted by Allion Test Labs, Comcast’s new Xfinity Wireless Gateway, which combines a customer’s wireless router, cable modem and voice adapter into an all-in-one device, outperformed wireless gateways commonly offered by two other Internet service providers in both speed and range by providing approximately 155 Mbps of wireless bandwidth. The results confirm Comcast customers are able to get the fastest in-home WiFi speeds and best performance from their connected devices.

Comcast also announced the availability of Extreme 305 throughout most major markets in its Northeast division. Extreme 305 is a new ultra-fast speed tier that offers the most-advanced digital homes download speeds of up to 305 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 65 Mbps.

“Extreme 305 reaffirms our commitment to being the fastest Internet service provider in the nation,” said Cathy Avgiris, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Data and Communications Services at Comcast. “With our latest Xfinity Wireless Gateway, we’re also delivering the fastest in-home WiFi experience to power our customers’ growing number of connected devices.”

In addition to download speeds of up to 305 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 65 Mbps, Extreme 305 customers will also receive at no additional charge: Xfinity Signature Support Complete Home service (a $19.95/month value), providing customers 24/7 tech support from experienced and knowledgeable specialists; a wireless router to create a fast, efficient and secure home network; a dedicated Premier Care team to support sales and billing needs; and the Constant Guard™ Security Suite, the most comprehensive online protection services available from any major ISP.
