Exacq Technologies Pushes exacqVision Edge VMS to IQinVision IP Cameras

Enterprise video surveillance software now runs directly on IQeye network cameras

INDIANAPOLIS--()--The exacqVision® Edge™ video management system (VMS) software used for distributed or enterprise video surveillance applications is now available for installation directly on compatible IQeye IP cameras from IQinVision.

The full-featured exacqVision Edge server software runs directly on an edge device, like an IP camera, without the need for a separate VMS server. Since the IQeye camera running exacqVision Edge functions just like a computer based exacqVision VMS server, it is compatible with the entire line of exacqVision systems, allowing it to function as a separate server or as part of an enterprise deployment consisting of any combination of exacqVision VMS servers.

“IQinVision has been a long-time partner with exacq,” notes Dave Underwood, president, Exacq Technologies. “As an early adapter of exacqVision Edge they will be able to offer a complete surveillance solution directly installed and administered on their high definition IP cameras.”

exacqVision Edge provides centralized user management and server monitoring. The software integrates with Active Directory and LDAP applications, as well as with other third party integrations including access control, POS/ATM, license plate recognition and video analytics. Live and recorded video from the camera is viewed and administrated using the freely distributed cross-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac) exacqVision client. The client also provides virtual matrix switching, multi-layer mapping, digital PTZ control and more. Recorded video can be stored on an on-board micro SD card creating distributed points of failure for those installations that require extreme redundancy.

Edge servers and their cameras are fully scalable with every exacqVision server making it perfect as a stand-alone distributed solution or part of a complete enterprise installation. exacqVision edge is an ideal way to add cameras to existing enterprise deployments in areas where adding another server may not be practical—this includes outdoor locations, restricted access locations, branch offices, remote monitoring or out-buildings where only one or two cameras are needed. A complete list of IQeye cameras compatible with exacqVision Edge can be found at on the exacq Technologies website at www.exacq.com/products/exacqvision_edge.html or the IQinVision website at www.iqeye.com.

“We are excited about the continued growth of our longtime partnership with exacq,” said Rob Ledenko, EVP of IQinVision. “As the market realizes the opportunities and potential of edge technologies, IQinVision is happy to be at the leading-end of those advancements.”
