This continued growth is a direct result of hiring top talent nationwide and delivering product innovations that simplify complex security challenges.

Product Development

During the second quarter of 2012, Rapid7 released Metasploit 4.4, introducing tighter integration with Nexpose for an even more comprehensive, closed-loop security risk assessment solution. Rapid7’s penetration testing solution, Metasploit® Pro, now imports the vulnerability scan results from Nexpose, identifies and tests known exploits, and feeds the most critical risks back to Nexpose to enable remediation with prioritized, pragmatic advice. Rapid7’s further integration of their powerful security tools allows IT teams to take accurate, decisive action towards defense solutions, giving the entire organization increased credibility.

Q2 also saw the launch of Nexpose 5.3, which includes shared scan credentials, allowing security administrators to run authenticated scans by using one set of credentials assigned to multiple assets, rather than conducting authenticated scans for each asset separately. Rapid7’s vulnerability management solution also received the CyberScope certification, was one of the first products to obtain United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB), and was the premier vulnerability management product to receive Common Criteria Certification for Evaluation Assurance level Augmented (EAL3+).

Customer News

Rapid7 added many new customers to its ever-growing base in Q2, including Mary Kay, which generates $2.5 billion yearly in wholesale sales of cosmetics and skincare products. Rapid7 also completed deals with Rimage Corporation, publicly traded mobile content deliverer and CD, DVD and Blu-ray Disc™ publisher, and the Australian Computer Society, a 20,000+ member professional association for information and communications technology.
