Australia continues to make modest use of its geothermal energy resources. In Australia, geothermal resources are primarily found in South Australia and Tasmania and along the southern Victorian coastline. Also, Western Australia contains some of the most prospective areas that are in the Perth Basin (including the Perth metropolitan area) and Pilbara region (Carnarvon Basin).
