Bluefin Payment Systems Ranked #6 on the 2012 Inc. 500/5000 List

Bluefin Payment Systems, formerly Capital Payments LLC, earns Top 10 spot in its first year of entry

ATLANTA--()--Inc. Magazine has announced that Bluefin Payment Systems, formerly Capital Payments LLC, achieved the #6 position overall on its annual 500/5000 list, which ranks the fastest-growing, private companies in the United States. Bluefin Payment Systems provides a highly secure payment gateway for electronic payments, including debit/credit card processing, ACH, and more.

Placements on the list are based on the percentage of revenue growth from 2008 to 2011. To qualify, private companies must be based in the U.S. and have earned minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2008 and $2 million in 2010.

Bluefin Payment Systems achieved the #6 spot on Inc.’s list by generating 2011 revenue of $55.6 million and experiencing an 11,675.7% growth rate from 2008 to 2011. Founded in 2007 as Capital Payments LLC, the company recently changed its name after merging with Bluefin Payment Systems in Tulsa. The combined Bluefin entity now has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, New York and Tulsa.

“We are thrilled with the top 10 placement of our company on the Inc. 500/5000 list in our very first year of application,” said John M. Perry, CEO and President of Bluefin Payment Systems. “This honor reflects all of our employees’ hard work and tenacity, as well as the strength of our partner, customer and vendor relationships.”

Bluefin Payment Systems focuses on integrating its gateway capabilities with software platforms offered by companies in a diverse range of verticals, including health/fitness, medical, legal, death care and more. Ecommerce and POS merchants, including those in the faith-based, non-profit, insurance and utility industries, have also rapidly adopted the Bluefin solution.

“The security features of the Bluefin gateway, such as end-to-end encryption, tokenization and transparent redirection, provides software developers and large companies a huge savings in terms of security and the limitation of PCI scope,” said Perry, who attributed the company’s growth to a number of strategic industry partnerships and increased product offerings.

Bluefin’s Management team are active members of the Payment Card Industry – Security Standards Council (PCI-SSC), the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA) and the Electronic Funds Transfer Association (EFTA).
