CHICAGO--()--Good Sports, a national non-profit, and Riddell Sports, the Official Helmet of the National Football League®, are bringing smiles to thousands of kids across the country with their donation of 1,000 new Riddell Revolution Speed football helmets. Nearly 2,000 youth will benefit from this initiative including programs in Arkansas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas and West Virginia. The donation is part of Riddell’s commitment to protecting athletes through innovative technology.

Across the country, many youth football programs are struggling to provide proper equipment to the children who participate in their programs. Some have too many kids to support while others have financial constraints. Riddell’s football helmet donation will benefit a dozen programs nationwide including the Chicago Youth Sports Association (located on the Southside of Chicago), Arkansas Christian Youth Athletic League (Little Rock, AR) and Texas Women and Children’s Advocacy Services (Dallas).

All 1,000 helmets being donated are Riddell Revolution Speed helmets—one of the company’s most technologically-advanced helmets. The donation will help recipient organizations get one step closer to outfitting their players this season.

“Riddell is pleased to see so many communities benefit from this effort. It’s our hope that this donation will help kids be more physically active while enjoying the game of football,” said Dan Arment, President, Riddell. “The pure enthusiasm and joy for the game exhibited by these kids, and the coaches who so generously volunteer their time to instruct them, proves that football is thriving across the country. We couldn’t be happier to support the effort in helping these kids as they continue to grow.”

“Thanks to generous partners like Riddell we are able to provide disadvantaged youth with opportunities to participate in athletic activities with the proper equipment—a critical component of supporting healthy, active lifestyles for young people,” said Melissa Harper, CEO, Good Sports. “This is especially important in football, where properly equipping a team can be too costly for all kids to be able to play.”
