(NYSE: HUM), one of the nation’s leading health care and well-being companies, today announced a national agreement to enact case rate reimbursement for radiation therapy services.
The partnership between 21st Century Oncology and Humana will make strides toward new, more efficient and innovative payment methodologies for the future. Going beyond traditional methods, the new, reimbursement model ‘bundles’ all payments for a patient’s treatment for a specific condition. Because the bundled payment reimbursement model covers all procedures performed during a particular episode of care, it streamlines claims payment, eliminating administrative waste and also enables better care coordination across providers.
