Das Keyboard Achieves #1 Ranking as Amazon’s Top Rated Computer Keyboard, Releases Refreshed Mechanical Keyboard Line

Company’s Famed Model S Mechanical Keyboard Now Sports Volume, Track Control and Instant Sleep Functions

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Das Keyboard, currently listed as the top rated computer keyboard on Amazon.com, today announced the addition of new media functionality for the company’s popular Model S Professional mechanical keyboard.

The new features, which are available on both the Model S Professional and Professional Silent versions, include standard media functions such as mute, volume, play/pause, stop, and previous or next track. Das Keyboard’s Model S Professional also now includes an energy-saving instant sleep function, enabling users to quickly and easily put their computers to sleep any time they take a break from typing.

“As modern professionals become more involved with different media-related activities during the work day—such as online meetings, video conferences, webinars, video tutorials, product demos, podcasts, communicating via Skype, or participating in Google+ Hangouts—it’s important that they have convenient access to media controls on the computer keyboard that’s directly in front of them,” said Daniel Guermeur, creator of the Das Keyboard and CEO of Metadot Corporation. “Our fans have increasingly asked for a version of our mechanical keyboard that includes media features along with two Windows keys to maintain an optimal typing and multi-media experience. We’re pleased to deliver our refreshed Model S to satisfy their keyboard demands.”

Amazon’s #1 Top Rated Computer Keyboard Helps Customers Type Faster

Das Keyboard recently took over the number one ranking on Amazon.com’s Top Rated list of computer keyboards, which is based entirely on customer reviews. Today’s busy professionals and typing enthusiasts are excited about the productivity benefits of the Model S and have voiced their enthusiasm through positive ratings.

Das Keyboard’s high-performance mechanical keyboard is known for its distinctive “click” that comes with each keystroke. The keyboard’s gold-plated mechanical key switches are designed to withstand 50 million keystrokes, and provide unique tactile feedback that helps customers type faster with greater accuracy and comfort.

In addition to the keyboard’s new media keys, other Model S Professional features include:

  • N-key rollover (anti-ghosting technology), which is important for fast typists and gamers. It enables a user connected via PS/2 to enter—and the keyboard to recognize—all keys pressed simultaneously. (USB connection provides 6-key rollover.)
  • Two-port, high-speed USB 2.0 hub, which provides users with more places to plug in and charge accessories.
  • Laser-etched inscriptions on keys to resist fading
  • Extra-long USB cable (2m, 6.6 ft) that goes through desk grommets to keep workspaces neat and organized.
  • KVM switch compatible, so users can control more than one computer from their Das Keyboard.

Das Keyboard’s refreshed Model S is available online for ordering. It comes in two tactile flavors—click pressure point (Model S Professional) and soft pressure point (Model S Professional Silent)—which retail for $129 and $135, respectively.
