BMC Software Helps Growing Customers Fly High in the Cloud

Indra delivers real savings through cloud initiative

TUI InfoTec creates clouds that users want

HOUSTON--()--This is the year of accountability for cloud computing. Businesses are demanding that CIOs deliver value from their cloud projects. The acknowledged leader in cloud management, BMC Software (NASDAQ:BMC) has been helping its growing base of cloud customers to answer that call with measurable benefits to the business.

“Clouds have the ability to enable IT organizations to deliver high-performing business services faster and at lower cost, so the business remains competitive and consequently meets their revenue and profit goals,” said Ronni Colville, VP and Distinguished Analyst at Gartner. “There are few cloud management solutions successfully creating such a reality for customers.”

Today, BMC is advancing its cloud leadership with the introduction of major new capabilities within its BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management and BMC Cloud Operations Management solutions. These new releases will provide customers greater accountability and flexibility in planning, building and running a successful cloud. Clouds have come a long way from the science projects of a few years ago. Leveraging these successful prototypes into real business enablers is now the priority for IT organizations around the world. When successfully deployed, clouds are becoming an integral part of managing the business and are the foundation of business IT.

But many organizations continue to struggle to get it right.

“Many companies seek to harvest the business benefits of cloud computing rather than ‘muddling about’ in a perpetual state of experimentation. BMC has an unequalled track record of building clouds that have a real impact and can show real business value,” said Kia Behnia, BMC’s chief technology officer. “Indra, HCL Technologies and TUI Infotec are a few examples of the many customers that have found the path to cloud success by partnering with BMC Software.”

  • Customer Success – Indra, an IT leader in Europe and Latin America, has employed the BMC Cloud Management solutions to not only reduce its time to market for new services from months to days, but also reports that it has optimized its hardware and software resources and improved the management of those resources by 90 percent.

Further, Indra has realized back-end savings of nearly 40 percent in areas such as compliance and legal enforcement of security policies. Indra, which has over 40,000 employees located in over 118 locations, constructed an innovative environment called FlexIT from which it supports the delivery of outsourcing operations to its customers.

“When designing FlexIT, we knew we had to meet client expectations for cloud services,” said Myriam Blázquez, director of Indra’s cloud strategy. “We wanted to provide an integrated solution to our customers for delocalized services in a cloud infrastructure with all of the guarantees of security.”

  • Customer Success – According to HCL Technologies ISD’s Kaylan Kumar, “The advent of cloud has fundamentally changed the way we monitor and manage technology environments and can often muddy the waters when trying to diagnose problems, particularly across hybrid environments. BMC’s Cloud Operations Management solution allows us to quickly isolate and solve problems.”

Kumar, the company’s worldwide head of cross functional services, continued, “A majority of the companies that require infrastructure services are working in a hybrid environment that includes cloud services, yet want unified monitoring of that environment. HCL uses analytics and workflows generated by BMC solutions to better control the complex neighborhoods that most clouds are required to live in.”

BMC’s new cloud management solutions seek to illuminate the behavior of pooled virtual and cloud resources as well as provide in-depth visibility into how those resources are performing and impacting cloud services, no matter how complicated the environment.

  • Customer Success – Inevitably, as cloud computing shoulders the delivery of more and more business functions, it must also expand to embrace the ultimate end users of those services. TUI InfoTec lives this reality each and every day as the IT services provider to Europe’s largest travel group, TUI AG.

“The Age of Consumerization that we live in has created an appetite within businesses for an IT experience that emulates what consumer technology has created,” said Michael Cares, the executive director for TUI InfoTec. “These expectations encompass everything from innovative user interfaces to the stability of the service and most importantly the cost and consumption models. BMC’s new cloud management solutions will substantively close the gap between the cloud our end users want and the cloud they actually receive.”

BMC’s deep relationships with business users have inspired new capabilities that propel the cloud to this goal, such as shopping carts for cloud services, broader platform support and increased application automation.
