CB&I Announces Paraxylene Technology Award by Reliance Industries Limited, India

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CB&I (NYSE: CBI) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Reliance Industries Ltd. for providing technology for the world’s largest aromatics complex to be built at Jamnagar, Gujarat, India.

The complex includes proprietary BP paraxylene technology offered for license exclusively by Lummus Technology, which uses a novel crystallization step and other features to provide for low capital and operating costs.

Paraxylene is an intermediate in the manufacture of polyester, a polymer used for a variety of applications, from fibers to engineering plastics.
