CHICAGO--()--The 100,000 Jobs Mission is hosting a major hiring event for U.S. military veterans, transitioning servicemembers and military spouses on July 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s UIC Forum. Over 40 top employers are participating and seek to fill jobs in the Chicago area – and nationwide – ranging from entry-level to managerial positions.

The hiring event model used by the 100,000 Jobs Mission is designed for job seekers to register and upload their resumes prior to the event so that participating companies can review them and schedule interviews for that day. In some cases, candidates may be offered a job on the spot. Many of the recruiting teams are comprised of veterans who can help translate military skill sets into open jobs.

The event is being held in collaboration with Joining Forces, Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs , Illinois Department of Employment Security, University of Illinois at Chicago, The American Legion, Illinois Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Student Veterans of America, U.S. Department of Labor – VETS, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
