Tech Source Targets GPGPU Applications with Launch of Rugged Condor 3000x-cc XMC Video Graphics Card

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.--()--Tech Source, Inc., an independent supplier of high performance embedded video, graphics and high end computing solutions, has announced a conduction cooled and rugged version of its Condor 3000x XMC processor targeted at general purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) applications.

The Condor 3000x-cc XMC card is based on the AMD RadeonTM E6760 embedded graphics processing unit (GPU) and provides a robust solution for rugged military and avionics applications that require high performance graphics and video processing. With 576 GFLOPs of peak single precision floating point performance and 480 individual processing units (shaders), the Condor 3000 graphics processor is particularly well suited for highly parallel computations and other GPGPU applications such as image analysis, radar, sonar, and video surveillance.

Condor 3000x-cc is a rugged XMC graphics/video processor with 1GB of on-board memory and supports the latest versions of the APIs such as OpenGL, OpenCL and DirectX. The product supports up to 6 video outputs through its rear PMC or XMC IO, which could be a combination of DVI, VGA and DisplayPort. Its built-in video decoder enables dual HD decoding of H.264, VC-1. MPEG4 and MPEG2 compressed video streams. Condor 3000x-cc XMC card also natively supports the industry standard OpenCL™ programming language.

“The Condor 3000x family tests the boundaries of high performance computation in a small form factor rugged defense product and offers best performance per watt consumed,” said Selwyn L. Henriques, president and CEO of Tech Source Inc., “GPGPU computing is gaining traction as a simpler way to do complex multiprocessing and our close collaboration with AMD has enabled us to bring this technology to the military/defense arena.”
