ATLANTA--()--AirWatch, the global leader and innovator in mobile security, mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM) and mobile content management (MCM), announced today it has scheduled its global AirWatch Connect 2013 user conference for Feb. 25-28 at Mobile World Congress (link to MWC site: http://www.mobileworldcongress.com/2013-preview.html), the world’s largest mobile industry event, at Fira Gran Via convention center in Barcelona, Spain. This year, Mobile World Congress broke attendance records, attracting 67,000 senior level executives and professionals and 1,500 exhibitors from 205 countries.

“The inaugural AirWatch Connect event this year was excellent”

AirWatch Connect 2013 will span more than 20,000 square feet inside the convention center to accommodate keynote speakers and more than 70 educational sessions. Additional customer panels, executive tracks and hands-on product labs will also be offered showcasing the latest innovations in mobile security, application, content and device management.

The scheduling of next year’s event follows the recent successful completion of AirWatch’s inaugural user conference held May 14-15 in Atlanta, GA which attracted 450 customers and partners from 17 countries around the world. The event featured 30 guest speakers, customer panels, 20 core and advanced technology sessions, lab and industry sessions, and multiple opportunities for attendees to network with industry peers.

The conference also featured presentations by AirWatch executives including Alan Dabbiere, chairman, and John Marshall, CEO. They highlighted the company’s rapid growth, which now has reached more than 600 employees and 2,500 customers, increased investment in R&D, new state-of-the-art data centers, the opening of four new offices and its aggressive expansion internationally. Keynote speaker Nicholas McQuire, director Mobile Enterprise Strategies at IDC, presented “Risk Management or Business Transformation? Key Trends in Global Enterprise Mobility,” where he discussed the growth of the mobility market, various models in the dynamic vendor ecosystem and key considerations in developing and implementing a mobile strategy.

"The inaugural AirWatch Connect event this year was excellent,” said McQuire of IDC. “AirWatch has a growing global presence and Mobile World Congress is such a strategic event for mobile executives. This is an innovative concept and a great opportunity for a high impact trip for customers."

“We are excited to schedule our global user conference during Mobile World Congress, the premier annual event for mobile executives from around the globe,” said John Marshall, CEO of AirWatch. “By attending our user conference, attendees can maximize their ROI and make smart use of their travel budgets by taking part in cutting edge sessions on advanced mobile technologies, best practices and thought leadership, while also learning about the latest industry trends and networking with top mobility executives and innovators. Building off the success of our Atlanta event, we feel that Barcelona is a perfect backdrop for Connect 2013 given AirWatch’s rapid expansion on the world stage.”
