BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) today announced that its Dragon Voicemail to Text service is powering the new Speech to Text service for the NuPoint Unified Messaging (UM) platform, Mitel’s integrated messaging solution delivering simplified advanced message management to enterprises.
The enterprise workforce is more mobile than ever, demanding a greater ability to communicate and collaborate with customers and colleagues. Mitel’s NuPoint UM platform keeps voice messages organized with a flexible voicemail service that sends all messages and notifications directly to email on PCs and mobile phones. By integrating Nuance’s Dragon Voicemail to Text, Mitel’s enterprise customers will now be able to have voicemails transcribed with industry-leading accuracy, and quickly delivered – enabling timely triage and response if needed.
“Mitel’s NuPoint UM platform has enabled leading enterprises all over the world to stay connected beyond the confines of the desk and traditional voicemail systems. The Dragon Voicemail to Text platform allows us to quickly deliver accurately transcribed voice messages to email, and ultimately empower the mobile workforce to reply and communicate with clients, prospects, and colleagues faster, and from anywhere,” said Tim Kostyniuk, vice president of product line management, Mitel.
With NuPoint UM Voicemail to Text, each transcribed voice message can include the full audio file as an attachment, as well as the Caller ID in the subject line when available, so users can quickly and discreetly read, respond to and manage voice messages without interrupting their current activity. When necessary, employees are able to listen to messages at any time, and message delivery maintains enterprise security levels.
“The mobile workforce needs to be more accessible than ever, and enterprises can’t afford missed opportunities or reduced productivity,” said John Pollard, vice president and general manager, voice to text services, Nuance Mobile. “We’ve designed a flexible and scalable voice-to-text platform optimized for the enterprise that breaks the boundaries of traditional enterprise voice messaging services. By quickly transcribing voice messages into text and delivering them via email to the phone or PC – people always get the message, whether they’re on the road, in the office, or in a meeting.”
Nuance’s Dragon Voicemail to Text service optimized for the enterprise has the flexibility to be fully integrated with today’s Unified Communications platforms, offering clear benefits to the mobile workforce, including:
- Intelligent access as users have the ability to respond, at any time, from any location, to urgent messages or requests;
- Improved prioritization and responsiveness by enabling immediacy in communicating with colleagues and clients. Important voicemails can now be prioritized and acted upon in real-time; and,
- Fewer missed calls and higher productivity by eliminating the task of dialing in, listening to every message in order, and then responding to voicemails. Voicemail-to-text messages are easily read in email, and can be quickly sorted, prioritized, read and responded to if necessary – just like email.
Mitel’s Speech to Text feature as part of NuPoint UM 5.0 is now available, supporting U.S. English.
Nuance’s Dragon Voice to Text portfolio enables billions of voice message transcription for the world’s leading carriers, service operators and enterprises.
