ARDX CEO Receives Hampton Roads Child Health Advocate Award

NORFOLK, Va.--()--A. Reddix and Associates (ARDX) is proud to announce that on June 4, 2012, Angela D. Reddix, President and CEO of ARDX, received the Consortium for Infant and Child Health (CINCH), Dr. Donald W. Lewis Community Leader in Child Health Advocacy Award. This award is presented to an individual who has successfully used formal leadership to advocate for children’s health issues. Angela is being honored for ARDX’s Healthcare Academy (HCA) Initiative.

Her long-envisioned brainchild became a reality in 2008, when Angela introduced the first Healthcare Academy in Norfolk. The HCA is a program designed to motivate youth to be engaged in physical activity and focus on nutritious eating habits, leading to healthy weight management and positive self-esteem. HCA delivers an interactive education program that positively influences the physical and emotional health and behaviors of middle school-aged children. Healthcare Academy curricula include topics such as nutrition, fitness, bullying, conflict resolution, and self-image. There is no cost for students to attend and the facilitators are healthcare consulting professionals. Each year, the company’s rising high school senior summer interns also participate in the program.

After the ceremony, Angela said, “To receive an award named after such a talented and well respected member of the community was humbling. Dr. Lewis made a difference in countless lives and was an enthusiastic advocate for children’s health – particularly the dangers of childhood obesity. I am thankful that we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth, and hopeful that the Healthcare Academy will grow well into the future!”
