API Healthcare Strengthens Nursing Leadership and Expertise with Addition of Vice President of Nursing

Dr. Kerfoot joins an already robust team of clinicians that include chief nursing officer Kathy Douglas, RN, MHA and clinical industry expert Kathy Malloch, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN. The emphasis on including clinical experts throughout API Healthcare’s solution development and delivery processes highlights the Company’s promise to ensuring its solutions are relevant and focused on current and future clinical requirements.

Dr. Kerfoot brings with her more than 30 years of leadership experience. She is the founder of Kerfoot & Associates, Inc. and has previously served as the corporate chief nursing and patient care officer at three of the largest healthcare systems in the country: Aurora Health Care System in Milwaukee, WI, Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis, IN, and the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston TX. With more than 300 published articles, Dr. Kerfoot is widely acknowledged for her innovative work in patient safety, evidence-based staffing and scheduling, creating healing environments and sanctuaries for patients and staff, strategic planning, shared governance, achieving excellence in quality outcomes and the Magnet designation as a system. Dr. Kerfoot earned a doctorate in nursing from the University of Illinois, Chicago, a Masters and BSN from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and completed several advanced executive programs such as the Johnson and Johnson’s Wharton program for Nurse Executives at the University of Pennsylvania. Her many honors include induction into the Academy of Nursing.
