Perfectly Suited: Tredway Lumsdaine & Doyle LLP, Working Wardrobes Stitch Together Classy Philanthropic Endeavor

“Law Suits & Legal Briefs” to outfit those in need of career guidance, wardrobe services and other critical employment necessities

IRVINE, Calif.--()--A prominent name in the Southern California legal community has teamed up with the area’s nonprofit leader in career development services to launch “Law Suits & Legal Briefs,” a playful name for a critical initiative created by Tredway Lumsdaine & Doyle LLP (TLD) and Working Wardrobes. The effort encourages attorneys and other professionals to actively help men and women re-enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency.

As part of the “Law Suits & Legal Briefs” campaign, TLD and Working Wardrobes are gratefully accepting men’s and women’s gently used business suits and accessories, along with monetary gifts needed to purchase new underwear for Working Wardrobes’ clients. All four TLD offices – Long Beach, Downey, Irvine and Beverly Hills – are accepting donations through the end of July.

The “Law Suits & Legal Briefs” initiative calls on numerous community-minded legal colleagues and others in the professional services field to support the cause. TLD will officially kick off the campaign on Tuesday, June 5, by sponsoring and hosting its own Success Event at Working Wardrobes in Costa Mesa.

“Our firm has been deeply involved in our communities for many years, dating back more than 50 years ago,” said TLD Managing Partner Daniel Gold. “But this so-important initiative has captured the imagination of the entire Tredway Lumsdaine & Doyle team across all four offices and I’m thrilled to see the enthusiasm exhibited as we have gathered suits and signed up many volunteers to help on June 5.”

At the Success Event, approximately 40 TLD volunteers – both attorneys and administrative staff – will work with Working Wardrobes’ clients onsite to help them select from the many “law suits” supplied by TLD. The 20 individuals selected to attend the event from Phoenix House, a nonprofit drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, will receive career guidance and personal grooming services to help boost confidence as they strive to get their lives back on track.

“Working Wardrobes hopes ‘Law Suits & Legal Briefs’ will catch on at other law firms in Southern California because the need for professional wardrobes for our clients, and for funding, is so great and even more pronounced given today’s economy,” said Working Wardrobes CEO Jerri Rosen. “We are so very pleased to have Tredway Lumsdaine & Doyle onboard, as the firm’s efforts, including its compassion for our clients, go deeper than just corporate social responsibility. We look forward to enjoying a long-term relationship with a firm that genuinely cares about its community, and we encourage others to join the cause.”

TLD’s clothing and donations drive will continue through July, and will coincide with the Eleventh Annual Statewide Suit Drive, a program sponsored by Men’s Wearhouse, which has been a tremendous supporter of Working Wardrobes for 16 years. Donors can drop off suits at any Men’s Wearhouse in California and receive 50 percent off regular priced items at the store. Suits in Southern California will be donated to Working Wardrobes.

Working Wardrobes is located in Costa Mesa at 3030 Pullman Street, Suite A. TLD’s offices are located in Long Beach (One World Trade Center, Suite 2550), Downey (8141 E. 2nd Street, Suite 500), Irvine (1920 Main St., Suite 1000) and Beverly Hills (9595 Wilshire, Suite 900).
