LOS ANGELES--()--WPCCU is holding a three-month long fundraiser in association with Credit Unions for Kids to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Every year, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles treats more than 96,000 children. WPCCU is supporting this cause by raising funds to help local children continue to receive lifesaving care.
WPCCU is accepting $5 donations for an eight-inch plush bear inscribed with various messages, perfect for any special occasion. The message bears will be available at all of the credit union’s five branches located throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Bears are only available with $5 donations made in branch. In addition, this fundraiser is part of the Miracle Match program from Co-Op Financial Services. For every dollar raised, Co-Op Financial Services will match the funds up to $10,000.
Credit unions across the country participate in similar fundraisers year-round to support their local children’s hospital through the Credit Unions for Kids initiative. Credit Unions for Kids is a collaboration of credit unions, leagues, chapters and business partners formed to raise money to benefit 170 children’s hospitals affiliated with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. These 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada treat more than 17 million children a year for cancer, pediatric AIDS, muscular dystrophy, heart disease, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, asthma and accident trauma. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is the Children’s Miracle Network hospital in Los Angeles.
