New Alabama.gov Introduces Efficient Features to State’s Official Website

Citizen feedback drives new design features

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The State of Alabama recently unveiled its new and improved official website, http://Alabama.gov, introducing the most user-friendly design yet. With the award-winning website’s sleek and sophisticated silhouette, visitors can easily discover useful local, state, and federal government information.

“The new Alabama.gov looks amazing! I recently submitted some of my favorite photos of Alabama and they were featured on the website!”

Alabama.gov visitors expressed their opinions about changes for the site; in return, the state listened and took action. Utilizing visitor feedback and analytical data, the site’s homepage now provides information on popular topics users want most. In addition, visitors will be able to navigate through the site more efficiently than ever before with enhanced menu options. Also, if using a tablet or a mobile device, the Alabama.gov site will now conform to the size of the user’s screen, creating the best user experience possible for visitors on the go or at home.

Another of the many enhancements to the Alabama.gov site includes a savvy social media portal, where citizens can check out the latest on Alabama politics directly from elected representatives in one convenient location. Visitors can also stay connected and involved with access to Alabama.gov social media accounts, such as its Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr pages.

The new site is already receiving volumes of positive feedback from visitors. One visitor shared her excitement saying, “The new Alabama.gov looks amazing! I recently submitted some of my favorite photos of Alabama and they were featured on the website!”

The Alabama.gov website was redesigned at no cost to taxpayers through Alabama Interactive’s partnership with the State via a competitively bid contract which allows the company to provide eGovernment applications and services to State agencies, boards, commissions, political subdivisions, local government agencies and quasi-government agencies within the state of Alabama. Alabama Interactive also works with close to 60 state agencies, managing over 200 on-line applications through a self-funded model.
