Peirce College Responds to Need for Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration for Traditional-Age Students

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Peirce College, Philadelphia’s leading private, non-profit, four-year accredited institution for working adult learners, introduced a bachelor’s degree in the Business Administration program specifically for traditional-age students looking to study full time.

“This program is particularly important in times of unemployment or recession, when unemployed students are looking to obtain a degree to help them pursue jobs.”

Peirce, which is best known for career-related programs for working adult students, believes this new program will suit younger students who are looking for a more scheduled, formatted day program, and who want to complete their degree in four years.

Peirce has seen an increase in the enrollment of younger, traditional-age students seeking a non-traditional experience. The College has responded with expanded programming to meet the needs of those students, many of whom want to study full time, during the day, and often do not want to study online.

Based on the College’s very successful bachelor’s degree for working adults, the program provides a practical, broad-based spectrum of business and management topics. The program will be available at the end of August at the College’s Center City Philadelphia campus. Classes will be held during the fall and spring, two or three days a week, depending on the courses scheduled.

“We hope to attract a younger student who wants to get a college degree but may need to work while they are studying, wants to stay local and not enter a residential program, and who can commit to a set schedule,” says Michael Schirmer, Faculty Chair of Business at Peirce. “This program is particularly important in times of unemployment or recession, when unemployed students are looking to obtain a degree to help them pursue jobs.”

Emphasizing Peirce’s personal, small college experience, Schirmer said, “The College’s nurturing environment and support structure provide younger students with a real opportunity to succeed, as opposed to getting lost in the shuffle of a bigger institution.”

Schirmer added that students also receive the support of dedicated academic advisors and faculty mentors throughout their studies.
