SOMERSET, N.J.--()--SHI International Corp., one of North America’s top 20 largest IT solutions providers, today announced that first quarter 2012 revenues grew 13 percent over 2011’s record first quarter to $874 million. SHI’s three-year-old SMB division led overall growth with a 78 percent increase in revenue year-over-year. The legacy Enterprise and Public Sector division also grew by 4 percent.
“Our continued growth is a direct result of delivering high-powered, cost-effective solutions backed by world-class customer support”
“Our continued growth is a direct result of delivering high-powered, cost-effective solutions backed by world-class customer support,” said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI International Corp. “Growth in all verticals and geographies shows that, in addition to SHI’s cloud offerings, our traditional IT procurement and asset management services are meeting and exceeding customer expectations in each sector of the economy. In particular, as SMBs continue to accelerate adoption of mobile and other technologies, SHI will continue to support their initiatives.”
The company’s revenue growth is mirrored by a continually expanding workforce. In the first quarter of 2012, SHI topped 1,800 employees for the first time, a significant milestone that illustrates the company’s response to increased customer demand. This is one of many successes for SHI in the first quarter. Other company milestones include the following:
- SHI earned Cisco Gold Certification, which rewards partners for loyalty to Cisco, proven capabilities in providing value-added services, and a strong commitment to customer success.
- CRN included SHI on its 2012 List of Tech Elite 250, a group of IT solution providers that have invested in the training and education needed to earn the most technical certifications in the IT Channel.
- Michael Dell presented Thai Lee with the Dell Partner of the Year Award at SHI’s Kickoff Conference in Austin in January.
- SHI International Corp. was named Americas Partner Executive MVP and VMware Corporate Reseller of the Year Award Winner at VMware Partner Exchange 2012.
For the calendar year 2012, SHI made an accounting switch and now ends each accounting period on the last day of the calendar month or quarter. This switch pushed some large-volume licensing agreements with anniversary dates of April 1 into the second quarter of 2012. In 2011, deals invoiced on April 1 would have appeared in the first quarter. Orders associated with these contracts would have further strengthened first quarter numbers.
