DFINE Awarded National Contract by Premier Healthcare Alliance

New Contract Provides Special Pricing on Advanced Spine Fracture Treatment to Thousands of Healthcare Sites Nationwide

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--DFINE, Inc., the developer of minimally invasive radiofrequency (RF) targeted therapies for the treatment of vertebral pathologies, today announced that the company has been awarded a national group purchasing organization (GPO) contract with the Premier healthcare alliance.

The three-year national contract becomes effective July 1, 2012. The agreement will provide Premier members specially negotiated pricing and terms to DFINE’s StabiliT® Vertebral Augmentation System, the most advanced treatment for vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). The StabiliT System harnesses the power of RadioFrequency Targeted Vertebral Augmentation (RF-TVA) to repair VCFs resulting from instability due to osteoporosis or cancer. DFINE is one of only two companies to be awarded a contract to provide a VCF treatment modality to Premier members under their new agreement.

“This is our largest agreement in terms of contract coverage, and we are excited to establish this new partnership with Premier,” said Kevin Mosher, Chief Executive Officer of DFINE. “We believe this agreement is a further testament to the clinical performance of StabiliT, which provides physicians greater control in the treatment of VCFs through site-and size-specific cavity creation, delivery of ultra-high viscosity bone cement with extended working time, and a unique, remotely controlled cement delivery system to minimize the physician’s radiation exposure.”

Premier operates one of the nation’s largest GPOs as a healthcare performance improvement alliance, representing thousands of hospitals and imaging centers nationwide, as well as tens of thousands of physicians’ offices and surgery centers. Premier is dedicated to providing its members with access to the highest quality and most cost-effective healthcare options. A number of criteria are considered during the identification, review, and selection of a new product or technology by Premier members, including quality, safety, clinical impact and physician preference.
