The study began with modeling, forecasts, spending data, and market sizing information to determine the top 25 software vendors. IDC then contacted the top 25 vendors to clarify its projections. Numbers were adjusted for vendors who provided additional data, and IDC’s internal estimate was used for companies who couldn’t provide guidance because of financial policy restrictions.
