  • Recipients Selected by the Utah Commission on Volunteers
  • Vivint Gives Back Donated Over $1.25 Million and 7,500 Hours of Service in 2011
  • Vivint Received the 2012 Mission 500 Corporate Responsibility Award in March

PROVO, Utah--()--Vivint™, the largest home automation services company in North America, today announced that it has been selected as the 2012 Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year by the Utah Commission on Volunteers. The company received the recognition based on its various charitable campaigns anchored by the highly successful Vivint Gives Back Project.

In 2011, Vivint Gives Back program donated over $1.25 million to charities throughout the United States and Canada, and these monetary contributions were supplemented by over 7,500 hours of donated service time by Vivint employees. Other charitable efforts in the past year include launching a collaboration with Habitat for Humanity International, partnering with Feed My Starving Children to pack more than 106,000 meals to feed hungry children in 70 countries throughout the world, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Salt Lake City, and others.

The Corporate Volunteer Program honors a for-profit organization that runs a particularly effective employee volunteer program. Established in 2008, Vivint Gives Back was created to alleviate hardship and restore hope for families in need, and relies heavily on the support of Vivint employees.

“At Vivint, we have created a company culture of service and giving, and it is amazing how dedicated our employees are,” said Josh Houser, president of Vivint Gives Back. “We absolutely could not reach as many people in need and make this kind of difference without our employees’ participation and financial contributions. To be named the 2012 Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year is truly a testament of all their hard work.”

Vivint was also recognized in March when it received the 2012 Mission 500 Corporate Social Responsibility Award, which is designed to honor companies in the security industry that make important contributions to those in need.

“We are thrilled and humbled with the recognition and hope to be able to inspire other organizations to give back whenever and wherever,” added Houser.

The 2012 Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year award will be presented by Utah Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah.
