LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amazon launched in-app purchasing in its app store last week, bringing it level with Google and Apple in that respect.
Aaron Rubenson, Director of Amazon’s Appstore will be in London this summer to meet with publishers, developers and European mobile industry leaders at the annual Open Mobile Summit conference, May 29-30 in London Victoria.
“This news comes hot on the heels of data released by Flurry recently that Amazon’s Appstore for Android generates more revenue per daily user than Google’s own Android market (now Google Play),” said Executive Producer Robin Batt. “So who better than Amazon’s app store lead to share the latest on App Monetization at The Open Mobile Summit this summer?”
And with the Kindle Fire scheduled for a UK launch at the end of April, British customers should soon be able to directly experience Amazon in-app purchases.
The future of the apps market, including best practice strategies for monetisation and distribution, is one of the main themes for discussion at this year’s conference, with major app publishers including Layar, Disney and Mind Candy joining the debate.
Flurry CEO Simon Khalaf will also be speaking at the event this year, alongside other CEOs from hot app companies Smule, Urban Airship, BottleRocket and Bionic Panda who are flying into London from San Francisco for the event.
