Jefferies Appoints Global Senior Advisory Board

NEW YORK--()--Jefferies today announced that it has appointed six distinguished executives to its Global Senior Advisory Board: Mr. James D. Robinson III, Lord Hollick, Mr. Michael Goldstein, Mr. Bernard Bourigeaud, Mr. Dennis W. Archer and Sir David Reid.

Mr. James D. Robinson III

Jim Robinson is General Partner and co-founder of RRE Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on the information technology sector. He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Express Company (NYSE: AXP), the world's largest credit card issuer and member of the Dow 30, a role he held for 16 years. He is a director of the Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO), the world's largest beverage company. He was formerly the Chairman of Bristol- Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY), a global pharmaceutical company and a director and advisor to Novell Inc. (NASD: NOVL), a global enterprise software leader. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Honorary Chairman of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an Honorary Trustee of The Brookings Institution, and is a director of several private companies and not-for-profit organizations.

Lord Hollick

Lord Clive Hollick is the former Chief Executive Officer of United Business Media (LSE: UBM), a leading global business media, financial and information services company and the largest global newswire distributor, a role he held for 30 years. Lord Clive Hollick serves on the boards of Honeywell International (NYSE: HON), a Fortune 100 technology and manufacturing company; ProSieben Sat.1 Media AG (GY: PSM), a major pan-European broadcasting group and BMG Music Rights Management GmbH, a global music publishing business. Lord Clive Hollick has been a member of the House of Lords since 1991 and sits on the Economic Affairs Committee. He founded the Institute for Public Policy Research, a UK think tank and has served as advisor to several UK Labour Party leaders, including Prime Minister Tony Blair. He was formerly a Partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a Director of BAe Systems (LON: BA/), a global defense and security company, Logica Plc (LSE: LOG), a business and information technology services company, and was Senior Director of Diageo (LN: DGE), the world’s leading premium drinks company.

Mr. Michael Goldstein

Mr. Michael Goldstein is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Toys R Us, Inc., the world's leading toy and children's products retailer, roles he held over seven years. Mr. Goldstein holds positions on numerous boards including Charming Shoppes, Inc. (NASD: CHRS), a leading multi-brand women’s specialty apparel retailer; and Pacific Sunwear (NASD: PSUN), a retailer in action sports and fashion products; and 4 Kids Entertainment, a brand management company in children’s entertainment. He was formerly the lead director for Medco Health Solutions, Inc, one of the largest pharmacy benefit managers and mail order pharmacy operators in the United States, which was recently purchased by Express Scripts Holdings. He is also a former partner at Ernst & Young LLP and is a director of numerous private companies and not-for-profit charitable organizations.

Mr. Bernard Bourigeaud

Mr. Bourigeaud was the founder and for 17 years Chairman and CEO of Atos Origin (FP: ATO), one of the largest IT services companies in the world. Prior to Atos Origin, he spent 11 years at Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, where he headed their Management Consulting Group. Mr. Bourigeaud holds positions on numerous boards, including CGI Inc. (CT:GIB/A), one of the world's largest independent information technology and business process services firms; Amadeus IT Holding (SM:AMS), a leading transaction processor and provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry; and Oberthur Technologies, a world leader in the field of computer data security, where he serves as non-executive Chairman. Mr. Bourigeaud is also an international operating partner of private equity firm Advent International, and is a member of the Governing Board of the International Paralympics Committee. Mr. Bourigeaud was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian honor, awarded by the President of France.

Mr. Dennis W. Archer

Mr. Archer is the former Mayor of the City of Detroit, a position he served for two consecutive 4 year terms. Following his term as Mayor, Mr. Archer was elected President of the American Bar Association. Mr. Archer is a member of the Board of Directors of Johnson Controls Inc. (NYSE: JCI), one of the world's largest manufacturers of automotive systems and building control systems; Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS), a leading manufacturer of home improvement and building products; and Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR), a provider of enterprise software. Mr. Archer currently serves as Chairman Emeritus, and was previously the Chairman and partner for 8 years of Dickinson Wright PLLC, a 300-lawyer Michigan-based corporate law firm.

Sir David Reid

Sir David Reid is the recently retired Chairman of Tesco (LN: TSCO), a role he served since 2004. Tesco is a FTSE 100 company, one of the top 3 retailers in the world and the largest food retailer in the UK. Sir David joined Tesco 25 years ago, holding a variety of positions, including CFO and Deputy Chairman, and he also led the successful expansion of Tesco into Central Europe and Asia. Sir David is also the Chairman of Intertek Group PLC (LN: ITRK), a global leader in product inspection services; a director of Reed Elsevier PLC (LN: REED), one of the world’s largest publishing and information services companies; and, until its recent sale, was Chairman of Kwik Fit, one of the largest automotive repair and replacement parts chains in the UK. He also served on the Advisory Councils to both Mayors of Seoul and Shanghai.
